Just now getting around to posting an update on our Speed Week 2024 adventure in August.  The trip to the salt was difficult, we had tire trouble on the car hauler.  We parked the truck and trailer in Alamo, about 250 miles away from Wendover.  We used the push truck and trailer to bring two blown tires to Wendover late Sunday night.  The tires were replaced and fitted around midnight.  After returning to the tailer to replace the tires and driving the car trailer all night, we did manage to make it to the salt about 10:30 am Monday morning.  We proceeded to get the pit setup and get through technical inspection by the end of Monday.  Tuesday morning, we finished preparing the car and went to the line to make a run.  On the first run the car shifted into neutral after first gear.  We reviewed the data, and we decided the driver was still holding the neutral button on the shift into second.  We went back up to the line and this time the driver was very conscious to quickly get off the neutral button. Turns out it was not driver error.  The transaxle did the same thing, but this time I pulled it out of neutral and went into 2nd.  On the shift to 3rd, same thing it went into neutral.  We wanted to get some data, so I kept at it.  It finally shifted properly 4th to 5th.  At that point, the car was getting to be a handful to drive, and I figured we got some of the test data we needed.  Subsequent testing in the pits confirmed a broken transaxle.  We packed up and went home Wednesday.

We started the car this weekend and went through the gears on the repaired gear box.

All went well.  We have now reassembled the car completely and final preparations are being made for Speed Week 2024.  The new turbos, ECU and ignition system have never been tuned and tested on a five mile track.  We will be arriving a couple of days into the event and using it as a test session.
