The 2012 World Finals SCTA Land Speed Race went very, very well for us.  We received top time of the meet with our modified sports car.

We made two very good runs during the event; a pass with a 370mph average with a 379mph exit speed and a 380mph average with a 373mph exit speed. Unfortunately, these runs were not back to back so the official record was set lower at 364mph. That's still a very fast time for a modified car.

It’s nice to at least have two very good runs during the same event.  This proves the first pass was not a fluke.  We will just have to string together two good runs to set a super-fast record in the future.

The exit speed on our 380mph average run is actually slower than the average.  I was trying to prevent it, but the engine hit the rev limiter in the last mile.  When that happens, our electronics shut off the engine until the revs come way down.  We were still accelerating in the last mile.  The data logger shows we hit 387mph before the rev limiter kicked in.

This year’s crew worked very long hours to get the car ready for the event and also while on the salt during the meet.  Hats off to them!  Moran Motorsports also built one heck of a motor to enable us to run that fast
